Avengers Star: Chris Hemsworth donates $1 million to Australian bushfires

Thor actor, Chris Hemsworth has donated AUS$1 million towards assisting those affected by the devastating bushfires in Australia.

The actor made the announcement on his Instagram and has encouraged others to "dig deep" and help in any way that they can.

He says the money goes directly to the firefighters, the people on the front lines, the people who have suffered, the communities who have taken a hit and are in desperate need of our support.

He has also thanked everyone whose sent their well wishes and donations.

Australian Comedian Celeste Barber's foundation has raised over AUS$41.5 million.
