It was a day to reflect on a difficult year for the Avanua family of Wailoku who got together to celebrate Christmas with loved ones today.
Tevita Avanua says it was a challenging year but they survived the difficult period through support from friends and families.
Avanua who lost his job earlier this year says there were times when they found it difficult to put food on the table.
He says he started doing back-yard farming and is fortunate that his wife is still working.
Avanua says they had a Christmas Day family lunch and are know waiting to mix the grog.
