Australia to fund construction of Maritime Essential Services Centre in Fiji
Minister for Defence and National Security, Inia Seruiratu and Australia’s Defence Minister Linda Reynolds.

Australia will be funding both the design and construction of the Maritime Essential Services Centre in Fiji.

This Centre will incorporate the Republic of Fiji Navy Headquarters, the Fiji Maritime Surveillance and Rescue Coordination Centre, Coastal Radio and Fiji’s Navy Hydrographic Service.

Australia’s Defence Minister Linda Reynolds says the new Centre will facilitate maritime security coordination within Fiji and throughout the region.

Minister for Defence and National Security, Inia Seruiratu says this new project will have a positive economic dividend and generate jobs.
