Co-host Australia has booked their place in the FIFA Women's World Cup knockout stage after thrashing Olympic Champions Canada 4-nil last night in Melbourne.

The Australian football side had eliminated the threat which could cost them an early exit from the race and became the Group B leaders.

Hayley Raso scored twice for the team while Mary Fowler and Steph Catley scored one goal each.

Australia will face the runner-up of Group D next Monday, and runner-up Nigeria will play Group D winners.

In other matches, Zambia won 3-1 against Costa Rica while Japan thrashed Spain 4-nil.

In today’s matches, Vietnam will play Netherlands at 7pm, Portugal will take on USA at 7pm, Haiti to play Denmark at 11pm while China to face England at 11pm.
