Around 37,000 applications for the one-off $100 assistance for the North

Around 37,000 people living in the Northern Division have applied for Government’s one-off $100 unemployment assistance.

Applications for the assistance closed at 5pm yesterday.

The assistance is for people who are still unemployed where the Government allocated $13 million for the scheme in the 2021/2022 Revised National Budget.

Permanent Secretary for Economy, Shiri Gounder says they are currently assessing the applications and payment will begin from next week.
