The application for the registration of two proposed political parties has been rejected by the Fijian Elections Office.

The Fijian Elections Office says following the evaluation of the applications for registration as political parties by the proposed ‘All Peoples Party’ and the proposed ‘Kingdom United Party’, the Registrar of Political Parties has found that both applications have failed to meet the minimum requirements under Section (6) of the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013.

They say therefore, the Registrar has rejected the applications accordingly.

Meanwhile, there are nine registered political parties in Fiji.
