Bernard Hicks who is serving jail term for a count of murder

The Fiji Court of Appeal has refused the appeal of Bernard Hicks who is serving jail term for a count of murder.

Hicks was produced before Fiji Court of Appeal Judge Justice Chandana Prematilaka.

The appeal was filed outside the time frame.

Hicks who murdered his 33-year-old defacto wife, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2016.

He had filed an appeal against his sentence and conviction.

He has to serve 16 years in jail after which he can request for a presidential pardon.

Hicks stabbed his defacto wife 8 times at an apartment in Suva after an argument.
