Alleged partner killer remanded in custody, case transferred to the Lautoka High Court

25-year-old Kenona Toakasa, who allegedly caused the death of her partner in Tavua, has been remanded in custody.

Toakasa appeared before Magistrate Timoci Qalinauci at the Tavua Magistrates Court.

Her plea has been deferred, and the matter has been transferred to the Lautoka High Court.

The case will be called again on the 18th of this month.

Police had earlier said that the woman is alleged to have fled the scene after seriously injuring her husband, which resulted in his death.

The matter was reported to police by the victim’s father, who found him lying motionless with visible injuries.
