Alleged marijuana farmers to take their plea next month

2 men who allegedly cultivated marijuana in Kadavu will take their plea in the Suva Magistrates Court on the 1st of November.

36-year-old Apisai Daveta and 41-year-old Kalaveti Marawa were arrested on the 20th of September following raids in Nakasaleka, Kadavu.

Daveta allegedly cultivated 30 marijuana plants, weighing 8.82kg while Marawa allegedly cultivated 80 plants that weighed 7.78kg.

The two are charged with a count each of Unlawful Cultivation of Illicit Drugs.

They appeared before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili this morning.
