A 21-year-old man who allegedly obtained money through the MPaisa platform in a scam has been granted bail.
Police say Abhishek Avinash Sami, a labourer of Clop Cott Street in Yalalevu, Ba is charged with one count of obtaining financial advantage through deception, appeared in the Ba Magistrates Court this afternoon.
The Fiji Police Force MPaisa Task Force had earlier stated that the man, during January 2024, unlawfully obtained money meant for Back To School Education assistance from a member of the public through the MPaisa platform.
The matter has been adjourned to the 15th of July.
