Alleged COMPOL impersonator Hadyat Ali, granted bail

Hadyat Ali, who is accused to be linked to the circulation of Viber messages purporting to be the Commissioner of Police, asking for money, has been released on bail.

Ali appeared at the Nasinu Magistrates Court this morning, charged with one count of identity theft.

He was released on two sureties and a $1,000 cash bond.

He has been instructed to visit the Nakasi Police Station every first Saturday of the month.

His case will be called again on the 8th of November.
