All schools in the Western Division will remain closed today

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that all schools in the Western Division from Rakiraki to Sigatoka will remain closed today.

The Ministry has also stated that all schools in the Central Division will be open for classes today.

The Ministry says all schools in the Northern Division will be open today with the exception of schools in the greater Labasa area that are being used as evacuation centres. 

It adds that schools in the Eastern Division will be open with the exception of those schools in Kadavu.

Parents throughout the country are advised to use their own discretion and assess flood conditions in their area prior to sending their children to school.

Schools that will be closed in the Northern Division:

Shiri Guru Nanak Primary, Holy Family Primary, St Mary’s Primary, St Augustine Primary, Bethel Primary, Nasekula District School, Labasa Primary, Korowiri Tovata Primary, Seaqaqa District School, Shiri Guru Nanak Secondary, Holy Family, Labasa Muslim College, Batinikama College, All Saints Secondary and Bulileka College.
