All schools in the Western Division reopen today.

This means that all Year 13 exams which were paused will resume from today while Year 12 students will begin their exams.

The sequence of papers for both examinations remains as per the original schedule.

Minister for Education Premila Kumar has urged all Early Childhood Education to Year 11 students to attend classes and for Year 12 and 13 students to sit for their exams.

Kumar also says the attendance of ECE to Year 11 students was high and with the clearance of the inclement weather, classes are expected to record even higher attendance.

The Minister has thanked parents and guardians for allowing their children to attend classes.

She has also thanked the heads of schools and teachers for their hard work in preparing the schools for the return of children to school.

Kumar says it is important for Years 1 to 11 to attend classes this term to catch up with the lost hours of learning because of the closure of schools for over 8 months.

She has emphasized that all students must observe COVID-Safe protocols in schools, homes and communities, and urged parents and teachers to take extra care of their children.
