The Water Authority of Fiji says all their critical sites have standby generators and these standby generators come online during unplanned power disruptions.

Chief Operating Officer Seru Soderberg has told Legend FM News they have hired generators for the sites where they do not have the size of the generator that is required.

He confirms the WAF Board has also approved the purchase of 22 standby generators.

Soderberg adds the generator sets are currently under order and the full duration for the supply of the whole consignment is six months.

He confirms the first set of generators should arrive around April and May this year.

Soderberg says the generators will be progressively installed as they are delivered.

A tender for the generator sets was put out last year.
