Minister for Education Rosy Akbar has called on parents to take extra care when taking their children out during this school break.
Speaking to parents and students of Nawai Secondary School in Nadroga, Akbar highlighted that the number of drowning cases recorded in the past few weeks is alarming.
Akbar says there has been a number of drowning cases that have been highlighted recently and they need to be more responsible as parents.
She added that children will always be children and parents need to be extra careful now with the school break approaching.
Akbar also called on students to ensure that they are well-rested before the new school term begins.
