Minister for Women and Children Rosy Akbar says the Department of Social Welfare is assessing the case of two babies abandoned at the CWM hospital.
Akbar stresses that the welfare and well-being of the children remains paramount for the Ministry.
Two new born baby girls were abandoned by their mothers this month.
One of the mothers had said that she and her partner wanted a boy while the other woman said that she could not afford to raise the child.
No further comments will be made by the Ministry as they want to ensure that the babies are well looked after.
Police have not received any reports of the two cases.
