About 1,400 FNPF pensioners yet to be validated
About 1,400 pensioners of the Fiji National Provident Fund are yet to be validated and the FNPF is now in the process of verifying their status.

The pension payments will only be made under the new system from this month if the pensioners have gone through their validation process and chosen the option on whether to receive the reduced pension rate or make the lump sum withdrawals.

There have also been delays in relation to pension payments for those validated on time and we have received a number of calls in relation to this.

FNPF had earlier stated that about 4,500 pensioners will have their payments deposited to their banks, posted to their addresses or be available for collection from the FNPF on Monday.

CEO, Aisake Taito said that this was to ensure that those who met the initial validation deadline are paid first and the remaining pensioners would receive their payment on the 30th of this month.

However this has not been the case.

Stay with us, we will get you full details about this issue later this afternoon as we have sent some questions to FNPF.

Around 9,600 out of the 11,000 pensioners have been validated so far.
