The ATS Employees Trust says they are not threatened by the move made by Air Terminal Services to advertise 150 positions with a temporary term of three months.

Secretary, Vili Finau says ATS management have been calling individual workers and telling them that they are willing to take them back if they sign anything.

Finau says they are ready to go back to work without agreeing to any conditions and are not threatened by the advertised positions.

Positions that have been advertised are for passenger assistance agent, kitchen cleaner, catering attendant, cook’s assistant and airline cook.

ATS Acting CEO Hare Mani says this is to ensure that they continue with their operations at the Nadi International Airport.

Mani says there is no intention to terminate contracts of workers that are currently locked out.

Mani says if the workers come back after signing the letter than they will be accepted but they cannot just sit back and do nothing.

According to Mani, around 250 workers are currently not at work.

He says that ATS has made its position very clear and any talks with these 250 workers will resume after Christmas.
