A women’s group is spreading Christmas cheer by helping needy families with financial donations.
The Assemblies of God Kinoya Women’s Ministry, a 40 member group has collected money and taken it upon themselves to help some families with some extra cash for Christmas for several years.
Treasurer Sushila Nadan says the group has helped 15 families this year with $30 for each family.
She says three families were given $50 and one family with $100 depending on their needs.
Nadan says the families that have been helped with cash donations include low income earners, families with only one income earner and widows.
The group has also donated money for gifts for children and in past years has made charity boxes filled with groceries for needy families.
She says more families will be given money through this initiative in the coming days.
