ANZ still working to reduce the $5,000 deposit to open small business accounts
ANZ Fiji Country Head Saud Minam.

ANZ Fiji Country Head Saud Minam says they are still looking into the $5,000 deposit their customers will have to pay if they want to open a new small business account and will be announcing something on this next week.

Minam says they do not have a lot of people coming in for new small business accounts but they will accommodate them accordingly if anyone does come in.

Minam also says it is a matter of concern for ANZ if their customers do not pay back their loans in time but maintains they are not in a business of repossession.

He says they will work with their customers to find out what position they are in and how soon they can make their payments.

Minam says everything has been deferred to the 31st of December 2020 for now.

Minam says more than 2,400 loans have been deferred so far under the COVID-19 Package.
