The Attorney General has today clarified that the issue of companies and individuals organising trade shows need to be dealt with as many are just retailing goods.
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said based on this, the government has made the decision to restrict all trade shows in the country until further notice.
Sayed-Khaiyum said all the matters are now being assessed and the final decision has to be made before trade shows are allowed again.
Meanwhile those companies and individuals, who had sent their goods to Fiji prior to the restriction placed on the trade shows, will be allowed to carry on for now but no further trade shows will be allowed until a new policy is drawn up.
