The Asian Development Bank Country Partnership Strategy for 2024-2028 will focus and work closely with Fiji on its development priorities.

The discussion was done during the Annual ADB Meeting where Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad met the President of the Asian Development Bank Masatsugu Asakawa in South Korea.

ADB will also support Fiji in the water sector, road infrastructure and bridge replacement, Suva Port relocation, blue economy and private sector financing.

Professor Prasad highlighted the importance of climate change adaptation and resilience-building measures including infrastructure investments to reduce the vulnerability of Pacific Island Nations to the impacts of climate change.

He also acknowledged ADB for its steadfast support during the pandemic to mitigate the health and economic catastrophe induced by the pandemic as they received close to $900 million support.
