The credibility of the Australian Council of Trade Unions' fact finding mission to Fiji next week is a concern to Government.
Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said calls by the Australian Council of Trade Unions to place Fiji on the blacklist of the Labor Party platform alongside Zimbabwe and Burma is absurd.
He added that the ACTU trying to place Fiji on the Labor Party blacklist is gross abuse of unionist influence over Australian foreign policy, especially after reports by the Australian Governments own think tank, saying how such isolation tactics against Fiji have only hindered Australia.
Sayed-Khaiyum said while they welcome the fact finding mission, there is no way now they can believe that the ACTU will conduct a visit with objectivity and fairness.
