As we celebrate Mother's Day today, Acting Permanent Secretary for Education Timoci Bure says a mother remains a unique and special person in a child’s life and serves as a lifelong advocate for their children's personal development and educational journey.

He says mothers are our first teachers who impart priceless lessons to a child from birth, such as kindness, empathy, and resilience, representing the spirit of love, care, affection and sacrifice.

Bure says as we reflect on the countless sacrifices and unwavering commitment of our mothers, we must acknowledge and appreciate the immense impact that they have on shaping the future of our children as their unconditional love and words of encouragement constantly guide and empower a child in every aspect of life towards success and progress.

The Acting Permanent Secretary stresses that this Mother's Day, we must express our deepest gratitude to all the mothers who have dedicated their lives to nurturing and supporting their children.
