As the Dubai 7s has started, rugby fans have a lot to look forward to in the next few months with the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 and the 2022 Commonwealth Games on the horizon as well.

While some teams recently took part in the truncated, two-tournament 2021 series in Canada in September, for others this is a new opportunity to lay down a marker and show they are in good shape to compete for medals when we get to the business end of this busiest of sevens seasons.

It also marks a new era for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team with 11 players making their international debut this weekend.

The Dubai 7s will be held from today to Sunday.

In the men’s competition, Fiji will face France at 7.22 tonight and will take on Canada at 10.52 tonight in the second game. Fiji will take on Australia at 3.33am tomorrow in their last pool game.

The cup quarterfinals will begin at 6.28pm tomorrow, the cup semifinals will start at 10.18pm tomorrow and the final will be played at 3.26am Sunday.
