98 athletes carry the hopes of the nation to the 2022 Commonwealth Games

98 athletes have qualified in their respective sports for the 2022 Commonwealth Games that will be held in Birmingham, England from the 28th of July to 8th of August.

Fiji will be represented in Men’s 7s Rugby, Women’s 7s Rugby, Athletics, Para-Athletics, Swimming, Weightlifting, Table Tennis, Squash, Para-Table Tennis, Boxing, Judo, Lawn Bowls and Triathlon.

The Fiji 7s Men’s national team will be cut from 26 to a 13-member squad to play in the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The 26 member squad includes; Jerry Tuwai, Napolioni Bolaca, Pilipo Bukayaro, Elia Canakaivata, Tevita Daugunu, Kitione Taliga, Paula Dranisinukula, Josevani Drava, Semi Kunatani, Manueli Maisamoa, Sireli Maqala, Jeremaia Matana, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Vasikali Mudu, Waisea Nacuqu, Vuiviawa Naduvalo, Tira Walagi Patterson, Kaminieli Rasaku, Iowane Raturaciri, Vatemo Ravouvou, Filipe Sauturaga, Kavekini Tabu, Joseva Talacolo, Iowane Teba, Aminiasi Tuimaba and Josua Vakurinabili.

The Fiji 7s Women’s team are; Vasiti Solikoviti, Rusila Nagasau, Adi Vani Buleki, Raijeli Daveua, Verenaisi Ditavutu, Sesenieli Donu, Ana Maria Roqica, Lavenia Tinai, Reapi Uluinasau, Mereula Torooti, Ivamere Rokowati, Lavena Cavuru, Viniana Riwai,Ana Maria Naimasi, Alowesi Nakoci, Laisana Likuceva, Laisani Likuceva, Luisa Tisolo, Tokasa Seniyasi and Maria Rokotuisiga.

Other prominent athletes that will feature in the Commonwealth Games for Fiji includes Banuve Tabakaucoro and Yeshnil Karan in athletics, and Taichi Vakasama and Cheyanne Rova in swimming.
