9 cases of COVID recorded in schools so far with only 1 active case

The Ministry of Education has so far recorded 9 cases of COVID-19 in schools and they have only one active case at the moment.

Minister for Education Premila Kumar says this is a clear indication that the heads of schools and teachers are well prepared to handle the situation.

Kumar says there was no major outbreak in any school because cases were isolated and treated as they were detected.

She says this was the strategy they had developed with the Health Ministry.

Kumar has also confirmed that if a student is found positive during exams then the student will be isolated and given a supplementary test.
