Police say majority of the bookings made were as a result of negligence and disobedience

85 people have been issued Public Health Infringement Notices by Police for failing to wear a mask in a public place over the last 48 hours, and Police say majority of the bookings made were as a result of negligence and disobedience.

Those booked were either improperly wearing their mask or had it in their possession but were not wearing it.

129 Public Health Infringement Notices have been issued for the period.

77 notices were issued for failure to wear a mask in the Southern Division, 4 in the East and 4 in the West.

Breach of curfew recorded 40 reports with the Southern Division recording 20 cases.

Failure to wear a mask in a Public Service Vehicle accounted for 4 reports.

Police continue to plead with Fijians to comply with COVID-safe measures at all times because they do save lives and offer protection to your family and loved ones.
