250 recruits from the Fiji Police Force participating in a tree-planting initiative are expected to plant 800 trees in the Province of Rewa today.

The Ministry of Forestry says the recruits will be planting 100 trees in eight villages including Nadoria, Nakorovou, Vunisinu, Nabuli, Suvalailai, Naivisara, Waivou and Burebasaga.

The recruits will be divided into eight groups.

The tree planting activity started at 6 am today and will run throughout the day.

The trees planted during this planting activity is connected to the government’s “30 Million Trees in 15 Years” initiative.
