It is a heartbreaking time for a family in Ba after their 80-year-old mother was found dead a home in Vunisamaloa yesterday.
The elderly woman was missing at first.
Police say the body was found by her neighbour, who then alerted the police.
They say investigators will await the outcome of a post mortem before classifying the case.
They add that officers recovered her body and conveyed her to the Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where a post mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
