An 80-year-old Lautoka man is admitted in critical condition after he attempted to commit suicide a few days ago.
Police are investigating the case.
The number of suicides and attempted suicides committed by senior citizens remains a major concern.
According to Police, 20 people aged 60 years and above have committed suicide between January to October this year while 3 people in the age group have attempted to commit suicide.
Calls continue to be made for people to reach out to the elderly persons in their families and to ensure they are not neglected.
