80 arrests for breach of health restrictions in the last 24 hours

There were eighty people arrested in the last 24 hours for breaching health restrictions in the country.

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says of that number, 41 people were arrested for being part of a social gathering, 34 breached the curfew and 5 public service vehicle drivers were arrested for not following the 50% capacity rule.

Nine people in their 20s and 30s were arrested in the Western Division for breaching the curfew and Police say they were either returning from a grog session or walking home intoxicated.
