75 cases of overcharging by retailers

Seventy five cases of retailers overcharging customers have been received by the Commerce Commission this year.

Chief Executive Officer Bobby Maharaj said they have resolved 19 cases involving supermarkets and small shops in court where the charges ranged from one thousand to three thousand dollars.

Maharaj said the case has now decreased compared to last year.

Other common complaints received include no expiry dates for products, failure to issue receipts and conditioning sale.
