A 7-year-old boy is currently admitted at the CWM Hospital after he was allegedly hit by a vehicle while crossing the road near Muanivatu Settlement in Vatuwaqa yesterday.

Director Traffic Senior Superintendent of Police, Mitieli Divuana says the boy was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man.

SSP Divuana says the boy was rushed to the Raiwaqa Health Centre and later transferred to the CWM Hospital.

Police say the element of negligence will also be investigated, as a 7-year-old should never have been allowed to cross the road by himself.

Police plead with parents and guardians, to prioritise the safety of their children when it comes to road safety.

Police add unfortunate accidents serves as a reminder to parents and guardians about the importance of supervision.
