62% of employment opportunities in Fiji are from entrepreneurs – Batiweti
Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation CEO Kameli Batiweti.

Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation CEO Kameli Batiweti says the opportunities are big and wide for entrepreneurs in Fiji as a survey by the Reserve Bank of Fiji in 2018 found that 62% of employment opportunities in Fiji are from entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the USP Entrepreneurial Fair at the Japan ICT Centre, Batiweti says one failure that he sees with entrepreneurs is that they try to remain informal for most of their life.

He says it is important that we learn that there is an alternative route where we do not only look for employment but also strive to be employers.

The Annual USP Entrepreneurial Fair is open to the public free of charge.

It will finish on Friday and starts at 10am everyday at the USP Japan ICT Centre.

The theme this year is Embracing Innovation, Creating Opportunities.
