A 60-year-old man who allegedly raped a 14-year-old female student has been remanded in custody until the 14th of this month.
The man has appeared at the Nasinu Magistrates Court but his wife who is also charged with raping the 14-year-old student, will appear in court later this week.
The couple allegedly raped the 14‑year‑old female student in August.
The man’s case has been transferred to the Suva High Court.
The matter was reported at the Nasinu Police Station by the victim.
She has alleged that the offence took place when she was requested to clean the suspects’ home.
The two have each been charged with one count of rape.
The couple and the victim are neighbours.
