A 58-year-old woman is part of the Namosi Highlanders Rugby Club that will be taking part in the Mataso 7s tournament next month.

While speaking with fijivillage News, Founder of Namosi Eco Sports Development Danny Jason says Namosi Highlanders Rugby Club has recruited women and girls to participate in rugby at the grassroots level to expose their skills and talents in the field and for the first time they will be part of the Mataso 7s tournament.

Jason says many women and girls are talented but lack an approach to transform their skills.

He says it is the first time in history for a women's team in Namosi to participate in a tournament.

He is encouraging women and girls to participate in rugby for inclusivity.

The Mataso 7s which is part of the Fiji Bitter 7s series will be held on the 10th and 11th of November at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
