The village of Nasoqo in Naitasiri now has a fully upgraded evacuation centre, ending years of disaster vulnerability.

The $55,000 project, funded by the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development, provides cyclone-resilient shelter, safe water, and emergency support.

Village headman Waqa Nakula says families once hid under rocks during Cyclone Winston in 2016.

Rural Minister Sakiasi Ditoka also handed over 10 water tanks.

He says no family should ever face such danger again.
