5000 marijuana plants uprooted in Kadavu

Members of the Fiji Police Force who are also district soccer players took over drug operations currently being conducted in Kadavu whereby close to 5000 marijuana plants were uprooted this past week.

The raids were conducted in Levuka, Yale, Naioti and Nacomoto Village.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says the deployment of the officers will continue throughout the operational period and officers from various Units and Divisions will be pushed forward to assist Kadavu Police with drug operations.

ACP Khan said apart from Kadavu drug raids continue to be recorded across the country.

Last week a joint raid conducted in the Tailevu area by the Eastern Division Task Force Team resulted in the seizure of more than 1,700 plants believed to be marijuana.

The raid was conducted in Nadaro, Vugalei.
