A joint Serious and Organised Crime Unit team from Suva and the West conducted a raid in Nadi on Thursday afternoon, leading to the arrest of five men allegedly involved in the illicit drug trade.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime, Mesake Waqa says several sachets containing white substances believed to be methamphetamine and dried leaves believed to be marijuana were seized.

He further says the seized substances have been sent for analysis.

ACP Waqa adds several arrests were also made in the past week of individuals suspected to be selling green and white drugs in the five policing divisions.

Investigation continues.
