SODELPA’s Tanya Waqanika’s Campaign Manager Watisoni Nata says there are 5 candidates for the SODELPA Leader’s position if current Party Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka is unable to contest the 2018 General Election.
While speaking at the SODELPA campaign meeting at the Raiwaqa Methodist Church Hall last night, Nata said the people who could take up the leadership role are Party President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, Leader of Opposition Ro Teimumu Kepa, Tanya Waqanika, Viliame Gavoka and Anare Jale.
Meanwhile Rabuka had confirmed during Straight Talk that he would not automatically lose his position if he is disqualified.
Rabuka says that he could remain as party leader while another person could take the SODELPA group to elections.
He says the other option is for another leader to be appointed by the party.
