It was a joyous moment for 49 residents of the Golden Age Home in Samabula who were treated to a Christmas Party today.

Permanent Secretary for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Jennifer Poole says today’s celebration gave them a chance to engage with their residents.

She says the residents will be provided a special meal on Christmas Day.

Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Rosy Akbar says no money can buy or give genuine love to serve through actions of compassion and understanding.

She says she is pleased with the 100% vaccination coverage of residents in the home.

Akbar says it was a compliance that paid off in the 100% recovery status in July as the home registered 39 positive COVID-19 cases.
