A 48-year-old woman has been charged with murder following a fatal fire in Levuka Street, Samabula, on Christmas Eve last year.
Police say the Samabula woman allegedly caused the death of a 19-year-old woman after intentionally setting fire to her flat.
It is alleged the accused started the fire because she was dissatisfied after a prior arrangement to purchase the property failed to eventuate.
Police say the 19-year-old woman, who was inside one of the flats at the time, unfortunately was trapped in the fire and lost her life.
The 48-year-old woman will appear in the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon.
