48-year-old Government vehicle driver charged

The 48-year-old Government vehicle driver who caused the accident in Navua yesterday has been charged.

Police say the driver is charged with a count of driving with excess alcohol beyond the prescribed limit in his system and a count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

The driver allegedly hit the 10-year-old boy who is admitted at the Navua Hospital.

Also admitted is a passenger in the government vehicle after sustaining injuries from the incident.

The driver will be produced in the Navua Magistrates Court tomorrow.
