4-year-old girl in Sigatoka dies in a house fire

A four-year-old child died allegedly from burns sustained in a house fire in Waicoba Village in Sigatoka, yesterday afternoon.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says that the victim was with a 30-year-old man who was trying to light a fire with zoom fuel when it allegedly spread resulting in the two sustaining burns.

Naisoro says that the two were rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital and later transferred to the Lautoka Hospital where the 4-year girl, unfortunately, passed away.

The 30-year-old remains admitted in serious condition.

Investigations continue.
