4-year-old Ratu Joji Cocker who suffered from Ventricular Septal Defect Closure, has received a new life after a surgery conducted by the ‘Hearts 4 kids team’.

His mother, Ilisapeci Waqalala says she is grateful to the hospital for providing free services for parents who cannot afford such expensive treatments and urges other parents to take their children for screening for early detection.

She says they were transferred to Sai Sanjeevani Hospital by the Labasa Hospital.

The 4-year-old boy is the first child discharged by the visiting teams from New Zealand.

The elated mother says four days after the surgery, her son was active and ready to go home.
