Four new Street Vacuum Cleaner trucks have been handed over to the Suva, Lautoka and Nadi Municipal Councils.
Each truck is valued at $850,000.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Minister for Local Government, Housing and Infrastructure Parveen Bala says these trucks can function as street sweepers, vacuum dusters, sprayers and can also help reduce dust.
Bala also revealed that these trucks can attend to fire cases as well if it is operated by trained personnel.
The Minister adds that these trucks will not be limited to just the Municipal councils but more of these will be brought in later.
The trucks are supplied by Construction Equipment Limited in partnership with Sino Trucks of China.
