39 officers who will play a key role in the 2022 general elections are currently participating in a 3-day Area Officers Training conducted by the Fijian Elections Office.

The Officers serve as a link between field staff and the divisional office, and are responsible for the implementation of operational plans within their electoral areas.

While addressing the participants, Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says as election officials they must be fair, honest, impartial, and apolitical in the conduct of their duties.

Saneem says the FEO invests in training its staff in the highest standards and the officers should use this opportunity to harness their skills so that they can deliver and perform during the elections.

The training is being co-facilitated by Technical Advisors from Australia and New Zealand and more sessions will be held in July and August this year.
