38 families who have been living in tents at Nabavatu Village in Dreketi after Tropical Cyclone Ana in 2021 have been assisted by the government with food rations and floorboards.

Nabavatu Village headman, Viliame Qaranivalu has thanked the government for assisting them with food rations, floorboards and tarpaulins.

Commissioner Northern Uraia Rainima led the team from the North to visit the villagers yesterday afternoon and to give food rations.

They say villagers who had to vacate their village after a landslide during TC Ana in 2021, are currently staying at the Savadrua Assemblies of God compound while the government is working towards their relocation.

The assistance included 100 tarpaulins with 40 food packs, each filled with a month's worth of groceries.
