341 new businesses have been issued licenses under the Fijian Made Buy Fiji Campaign since 2018.

This has been revealed by Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, Faiyaz Koya in parliament today.

Koya says this brings the total number of licensed businesses to 686 and 3482 products have been registered under the campaign since its introduction in 2011.

He says 69% of the total businesses registered are micro, small and medium enterprises.

The Minister for Commerce says 53% of those businesses have Fijian crafted licenses.

Koya says this means that market access and opportunities are provided to ordinary Fijians particularly to women and rural and maritime businesses.

He says the ministry has also strengthened the initiative and are doing more with it as they have started the COVID-19 recovery.

Koya says the campaign is more crucial than ever before.
